Terms and conditions of sale
What you commit to, and what Millenage commits to, as soon as a purchase is confirmed. They apply to any order placed on millenage.com from their publication.
Purpose
These terms govern the relationship between the seller and you. The seller is Sami Haddad, sole trader [status to be confirmed after registration], 98 avenue du Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny, 94320 Thiais, France, publisher of the millenage.com website; full details are in the legal notice. You, the customer, are a natural person of legal age acting as a consumer within the meaning of the introductory article of the French Consumer Code.
You accept these terms in order to complete an order: by confirming it, you acknowledge having read, understood and accepted them in full.
Description of the service
Millenage is a probabilistic mathematical simulation: it estimates where your ancestry comes from using demographic and historical models. Depending on the plan purchased, you receive:
- Discovery: a preview of your origins, with no payment.
- Past: your lineage from your most recent generations back to prehistory, on a worldwide scale; the book of your lineage, country by country; the comparison with a commercial DNA test if you have taken one; the historical figures your ancestry connects you to; importing your family tree to refine the calculation.
- Future: the projection of your descendants over three horizons (25, 100 and 300 years), with their ranges and the account that explains them. It does not open the content of the Past plan: your past stays the free preview.
- Past + Future: everything in the Past and Future plans.
The limits of the service. Millenage analyses no biological sample and establishes no certified genealogy. The results are statistical estimates produced by modelling, and guarantee no information about your actual biological or genealogical ancestry. You acknowledge having understood this limit before any purchase.
Prices
Prices are in euros, all taxes included. The seller is under the VAT-exemption scheme (article 293 B of the French General Tax Code), so the prices displayed are final, with no VAT to add.
- Discovery: free (preview)
- Past: €29.99
- Future: €14.99
- Past + Future: €35.99
The seller may change its prices at any time. The price that applies to your order is the one displayed when you confirm it.
Order and payment
- You choose your plan on the pricing page.
- You are redirected to the secure payment platform Stripe.
- You enter your bank details on Stripe: Millenage never has access to them.
- The payment is confirmed, and your access to the content opens immediately.
- You receive a confirmation email at the address you provided.
Payments are processed in full by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd, in Dublin, Ireland. You benefit from this provider's safeguards: 3D Secure authentication, SSL encryption, PCI-DSS compliance.
The order is firm and final once payment is confirmed, subject to the right of withdrawal described in Article 6.
Access to the service
The service is provided in digital form, immediately after payment is confirmed. Your access is tied to your account: it opens on any device where you sign in with it. There is no postal shipment, and therefore no delivery time.
Right of withdrawal
Article L.221-28 13° of the French Consumer Code excludes the right of withdrawal for digital content whose performance has begun with the customer's express consent and express waiver of that right.
By confirming your order, you give your express consent for access to the content to open immediately after payment, and you acknowledge that you thereby lose your fourteen-day right of withdrawal.
If you want to keep this right, write to contact@millenage.com before your access opens, asking for performance to be deferred. Your access will then open on the fifteenth day after payment, once the legal period has passed.
Warranties and liability
The seller warrants that the service conforms to these terms. You keep the legal warranty of conformity, under articles L.217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, and the warranty against hidden defects, under article 1641 of the French Civil Code.
The results are statistical estimates, not established facts: the seller is not answerable for any decision you make on their basis. Permanent availability of the service is not guaranteed, and it may be suspended for maintenance. If a prolonged outage prevents you from accessing what you bought, you may request a full refund of your order.
Customer service
Send any complaint to contact@millenage.com. You will receive a reply within seven business days at the latest.
Consumer mediation
If a dispute remains unresolved, you may refer it free of charge to a consumer mediator, as provided by article L.612-1 of the French Consumer Code:
[TO BE COMPLETED — name and contact details of the consumer mediator you subscribe to, chosen from the list of the French Commission for the evaluation and control of mediation (e.g. CM2C or AME). The same block is pending in article 6 of the legal notice.]
Personal data
What we collect, why, who receives it, how long we keep it and what rights you have: everything is described in the privacy policy, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation.
Intellectual property
The site's content (algorithms, regional and historical databases, interface, the book of your lineage) is protected by copyright and remains the exclusive property of the seller. Your purchase gives you a personal, non-exclusive right to use the results computed for you. Resale, commercial redistribution and automated extraction are prohibited.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. Failing an amicable agreement or resolution through mediation, the French courts have sole jurisdiction.
Amendments
The seller may amend these terms at any time. New terms apply to orders placed after they go live: the version that binds you is the one in force on the day of your order.
The two other documents
